Day 31: Small Hut

20th - 21st December.

A small hut used as a prop in a little project I'm working on. will post about it soon.

While modelling the low poly hut, the roof ended up being quite detailed which was a problem because it would take up a lot of UV space and I would have to sculpt each tile in ZBrush, To save time and optimize the UV space I ended up creating creating 5 tiles, unwrapped them and using them to populate the roof. this way all the roof takes up a lot less UV space and I only have to sculpt 5 tiles. The trade off I later realized was I couldn't bake an ambient occlusion map because there was no UV space to bake to.
